"Time Frenzy dares to ask the question
'are we aware of the costs of and willing to pay the price for the
ever-increasing SPEED of our lives?' Time Frenzy is provocative and
balanced and should be seen by as many people as possible." Barton
Sparagon, M.D., M.P.H., Medical Director, Meyer Friedman Institute,
San Francisco
Time Frenzy examines the social and ethical ramifications of our
increasingly fast-paced lives.
One of the ironies of the new technology in place in virtually
all industrialized nations is that it was supposed to save us time
and improve the quality of life, yet it is actually creating more
frenzied and draining lifestyles. To many workers, regardless of
their occupation, the 40 hour work week has become a fantasy. Add
to this the reality of long commutes and family responsibilities,
and it is obvious that there is a workforce teetering on the edge
of the abyss.
Time Frenzy discusses this "24-7" existence and then goes on to
compare the American work ethic with those in other countries (including
France, Italy & Morocco), in the process examining the impact
of technology on personal relationships, education, health and the
environment.
