Viewers follow an international team of architects, engineers & airport operators who come together to engineer an extraordinary dream – the world’s fastest built international airport, built from scratch in 3 years in the southern Indian metropolis – Hyderabad. Our group of experts runs into a wide range challenges; from an unstable traffic control tower and a sudden expansion plan that threatens to derail completion timelines, to an indefinite workers strike that threatens to crash land the entire project.

Airport Rising goes beyond the master-plan to capture the dramatic tale of ordinary people caught in the making of an extraordinary challenge – a Project Management Head who leads the Airport’s Engineering Team but has never built an airport before; a hyper-active and intimidating German Airport Operations Expert who is frustrated by the local work culture; an Airport-transfer Specialist caught in the transfer of an airport that’s reluctant to move and an IT whiz kid trying to implement an innovative IT infrastructure with a team that’s unfamiliar with the new technology.

With attention to detail, 3D graphic-simulations bring alive the complex engineering challenges of building the airport. Led by a fast paced narrative, the program intercuts in space and time between architects in the boardroom, engineers on the site, airport operators in the terminal and air traffic controllers in the control tower - to give viewers a glimpse of everything it takes to make an airport come alive.
