Faces of South America is a passion-driven encounter with the cultures of the world’s fourth biggest continent, with a focus on Peru, the heart of where great South American Civilizations were born. Viewers get to join energetic host and South American traveler, Nathalia Delgado, through this eco-adventure, a mystical, cultural and ecological journey.
It’s hands-on travel, rather than passive tourism. The host experiences and interacts with natives sharing their culture, beliefs & traditions, from the wisdom and knowledge of the ostensibly timeless rainforest tribes to the Inca legacy that still lives in the people of Andean Mountains. This journey takes viewers out of their everyday experience and into a fascinating and primordial world that captures the soul of South America’s unique heritage. Most of all, these cultural and geographical showcases compliment ancient and rural settings with fast-paced narratives and visuals.
The Sons of Lake Titicaca
This passage through four fantastic islands captures a place where time appears to stand still. The natives live on the highest navigable lake in the world, sitting about 12,500 feet (3810 meters) above sea level. The host will encounter the Aymara inhabitants that still live by the three golden rules established by the Incas. The program delves deep into a place where man knit and cocoa leaves are considered sacred, accentuating the contrast between the ancient settings and upbeat storytelling by using a combination of digital and 16 mm footage.
The Booraas’ Magical World
Viewers explore the way of life of a rainforest tribe called the Booraas. The host meets the “Curaca” of the tribe and, with his assistance, enters into their arcane world of herbal medicine, spiritual dance and a symbiotic relationship with nature.

Between Dances and Gods
Take an intimate look at 18 days of festivities in honor of the Virgin of the Candlelight. This festival is divided into two worlds, the Hispanic and the Native, who worship her through their respective dances, rituals and ceremonies.
Into the Amazon
Viewers receive an introduction to the longest river on earth, the status of the surrounding rainforest and the way of life of the people that inhabit it. The host meets the Yaguas, an Amazonian tribe coping with the intrusion of the outside world by making tourism their main means of survival.
