| From the team that produces the acclaimed
HD series "Fantastic Festivals of the World" currently airing on Discovery
HD Theater, comes a brand new travel/cuisine series.
Great cuisine is not just a combination of the best ingredients,
blends of exotic spices and the latest cooking trends of creative
chefs....
Gastronomy is much more...
Each country has its distinctive culinary character but when digging
deeper, every region has its own unique flavors, culture and secret
recipes.
The cuisine is defined by:
Geography - each region's landscape, weather and soil influence
the local cooking habits
History - from the first berry plucked and meat cooked over fire,
history has defined what a region's cuisine will look and taste
like
Cultlure - traditional dishes define a culture: black forest cake
in Schwartzwald, Germany, Tapas in Andalusia, Spain, Escargot in
Burgundy, France....
Tradition - family recipes and techniques on how to grow the best
crops, breed the best cattle make the most satisfying wine are passed
down from generation to generation
Personalities - the local chefs tap into the region's cornucopia
to create fantastic meals
All these elements are combined in a visually stunning concoction
to create a mouth-watering series that will not only entertain the
viewer but open new travel possibilities.
The 60 minute pilot episode travels to France and the Burgundy
region and includes:
- a chateaux that produces great wine but also has an incredible
collection of airplanes and vintage automobiles
- the Chassagne-Montrachart vineyard run by a father and his two
sons in St Albion for a celebration of Bastille Day and a world-class
wine tasting
- a visit to a home kitchen and a meal preparation by the youngest
three star chef in France
- a mustard factory in Beune
- and much more....
