Since its humble beginnings in Scotland
during the 15th century, the game of golf has come a long way. Today
in the US, over 26 million people play the game, with over 16,000
courses available. More and more people are planning their vacations
around golf courses with over 24 billion dollars spent in golf travel
each year in the US alone.
The Golf and Travel Show brings golf and travel together in a 30
minute weekly magazine style television program that is uniquely
different from anything else available. The series takes viewers
to some of the finest courses and resorts in the US and interviews
such golfing greats as Jack Nicklaus and Nick Faldo, but golf is
just the "tip of the iceberg" as far as the show's content is concerned.
The areas around the courses are highlighted, including nearby attractions,
resorts and accommodations, restaurants, entertainment and amenities.
The series is designed not just to entertain but to educate and
inspire with a series of regular features including "Golf Tip of
the Week", "The Science of Golf" and "Equipment Corner".
