The Art of Fighting is a travel/culture fight series which gives viewers unprecedented access to the fight scene in Japan, Thailand and the rest of Asia. Viewers witness everything from the lofty Zen influenced world of Japanese archery to underground illegal fight clubs. Not only do they see some of the world’s most unique martial arts, from the ancient arts to the latest fads, but the audience also meets the people who make these arts come alive.

The episodes are up-close and personal, hyper-realistic, behind the scenes documentaries about martial artists, their lifestyle, psychology and the arts to which they devote so much. The cornerstone of the program is unprecedented training and fighting footage as well as looks at fighters in their day-to-day lives. Viewers find out why people from Japan and many other places in the world dedicate decades of their lives to their one consuming passion – fighting! Along the way, the audience meets the hard-core tough guys and the noble losers.
