John McLean Media delivers Disney Parks, Red Shift to Discovery Networks
Seattle, WA, USA— John McLean Media—an independent television distributor based in Seattle, Washington, USA—has sold the six-part documentary series Disney Parks to Planet Green in the U.S. and Discovery Networks Asia Pacific. The distributor has also secured a sale for 12 episodes of New Zealand hotrod series The Red Shift to Discovery Networks Asia Pacific. The deals have expanded the relationship JMM shares with Discovery Communications, and should create new connections with Disney fans throughout the world. Disney Parks is set to reach masses of kids and grown Disney fans through Planet Green in the US and Discovery Networks Asia Pacific in India, Taiwan, Australia, New Zealand and the Asian Pacific Rim.
“We’re thrilled to have Disney Parks reach so many people while having the opportunity to work more with Discovery Networks Asia Pacific and Planet Green,” said John McLean, president of JMM. “The series is an unprecedented glimpse into the inner workings of some of Disney top attractions throughout the world and should resonate very well with viewers.”
With the new deal in place, the program is set to reach about 25% of the world’s population. Meanwhile, The Red Shift has also found a home on Discovery Asia-Pacific; the show will reach hot-rod lovers and automotive enthusiasts in New Zealand, Australia, Taiwan and the viewers of the Pacific Rim.
Disney fans in the United States have already lauded Disney Parks; it was released on DVD and Blu-ray in early 2010 by Questar Entertainment of Chicago and Burbank, proving itself as one of their best-selling series in retail and digital outlets. Shot in stunning HD, Disney Parks provides extraordinary insight into the technology, design, and “imagineering” that goes into every aspect of the Disney experience.
